Dancing at the A.C.W. Dance Studio is a great way to have fun, keep healthy and make new friends.
We offer a variety of group classes for all levels, from beginners (who often mistakenly believe that they have two left feet) through to Medal Classes.
We are also happy to arrange private lessons by appointment with one of our qualified dance instructors or with our very talented principal Alan Wake, LIDTA.
Our dance classes are all about you having fun and we offer a mixture of Ballroom, Standard and Modern Sequence dancing as well as Latin American, Latin Line Dancing, Salsa, Mambo, Merengue and good old fashioned Rock 'n' Roll.
So give us a call and we can arrange for you to come along to one of our Friday evening socials to get your heart pounding and your muscles moving.
Group Classes
These classes are held from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on Mondays and Fridays and can vary in standards from beginners to Medal classes, from Bronze to Gold and on rare occasions moving up to the Gold Bars, although it is normal for pupils wishing to progress above Gold to take private lessons.
Social Dance
Held every Friday from 8.30pm to 10.30pm giving pupils a chance to meet each other, make friends and practice what they have learnt in group or private lessons. We usually have teachers on duty who are happy to partner pupils and offer any additional help. Refreshments available throughout.
Tea Dance
A more recent addition to the studio taking place most Thursdays from 2.00pm to 4.30pm. This again gives pupils a chance to meet each other, make new friends and enjoy dancing in a relaxed atmosphere. Refreshments available throughout.
Private Lessons
These are subject to teacher availability and can either be for one or two persons or a small group.
When booking a private lesson you will probably be sharing the hall with other pupils taking private lessons with other teachers. Should you wish to book private lessons, please contact Alan Wake
Examinations
Held once or twice a year for those wishing to take medals in addition to their dancing and an examiner is provided by the IDTA on request by the principal, Alan Wake. We are fortunate to offer this opportunity should you wish to take advantage of it.Other Activities
Throughout the year, various activities take place to provide pupils with a chance to go out and about with each other and use their dancing at other functions as well as within the studio.
